People often ask us: "Why does an Italian brand like yours have an English name?".
The origins of our history date back to the early 50s when the founder of the brand leaves Italy to take a long youthful journey, which will have Great Britain as its last stop.
Here, he walks through the streets of London, full of life and new stimulation, he falls in love with the British culture, making the principles of the beat generation his own.
The curiosity for the "new" will eventually lead him to Scotland where, for the first time, he will get in touch with Scottish knitwear's tradition.
It was love at first sight. The silent and endless green landscapes of the Scottish countryside, the culture of stitches and processes handed down from family to family mark him deeply and when he comes back home he immediately has clear ideas: combining traditional English knitwear with Italian know-how: Cains Moore is born.
At the beginning, our brand develops as a craft workshop settled between the Comacchio Valleys and the city of Ferrara and specialized in the production of Cashmere garments, a raw material unknown in Italy in those years. Over time, it becomes a leader creating top-level knitwear with quality yarns, from the finest wools to the most luxurious cottons, and at the same time it is projected into the new digital era, becoming a 4.0 factory where the machinery is networked and the production process is constantly monitored, ductile and flexible.
